DELIVERING INNOVATIVE & COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY GLAUCOMA SERVICES.
We have collaborated with innovative experts to develop iRIS
iRIS is a digital platform that enables and delivers an intelligent, coordinated and patient-centred community service for the identification, treatment and monitoring of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
If you are a commissioner of eye-care services, an organisation looking to participate in community glaucoma services or an incumbent glaucoma service provider wishing to enhance their existing service delivery, then iRIS Glaucoma can add value to your service provision.
ALL OVERSEEN BY EYECARE EXPERTS AT OUR VIRTUAL CLINIC
iRIS enables the separation of the physical appointment and review processes allowing patients to be seen and fully assessed by one care provider in a convenient location for them, but then quickly and seamlessly receive specialist ophthalmologist diagnosis, treatment and prescriptions remotely, through our virtual clinic, thereby saving both patient time and valuable ophthalmologist resources.
Built to eye surgeon specifications, iRIS combines the clinical technical and administrative framework, to provide a digital infrastructure that is fast and fit for the front-line delivery of easily scalable wide-ranging community glaucoma services.
EASY TO SET UP AND SCALE UP
iRIS is web browser based, avoiding any costly and time-consuming installation issues.
iRIS is easily scalable and allows schemes to be built incrementally, with new clinics and users simply & seamlessly added to facilitate increased capacity and growth.
iRIS is inclusive, providing bespoke functionality for optometrists, ophthalmologists, GP's and hospital eye departments to collaborate, unlocking the professional eye care capacity in the community to provide their unique knowledge and resources to help deliver enhanced community based services for Glaucoma.
COVERS ENTIRE PATIENT PATHWAY
iRIS modules encompass the identification, refinement, clinical appointments, virtual diagnosis and ongoing management of suspect glaucoma and glaucoma patients.
Including all patient, GP & hospital correspondence together with prescriptions, bookings, billing and analysis.
SIMPLE LOW COST LICENCING
iRIS is licensed on a "per patient episode" cost basis, so iRIS licence fees are only payable once fee earning patients start to be seen in a commissioned service.
Providing comprehensive, real time, patient activity data, also simplifying billing, aiding budgeting and saving time.
BENEFITS FOR PATIENTS
Provides the patient with a more convenient, prompt, accurate and professional experience for their glaucoma related appointments.
Given the choice, patients overwhelmingly choose to be seen in the community rather than at the hospital eye service. Community Glaucoma Clinics are located in optometrists retail sites or specialist medical centres with a customer friendly approach to the patient experience. They utilise the latest equipment and are often already familiar to the patient. They are generally located in convenient high street/retail centres, further reducing the stress and anxiety associated with the driving, parking and locating of the necessary department, that a hospital visit may entail.
iRIS delivers the entire patient pathway that allows patients to be identified, diagnosed, treated and monitored in these local community settings, avoiding hospital visits and unnecessary face to face consultant appointments.
BENEFITS FOR THE LOCAL EYE HOSPITAL
Helping to reduce the burden on the hospital eye department by diverting many new referrals and transferring suitable existing stable glaucoma patients from the eye hospital and into community based glaucoma services.
Eye Hospital Departments are often one of the busiest in UK Hospitals. They have finite space and resources to deal with the increasing burden of routine glaucoma patients. Identifying and transferring suitable stable glaucoma patients into the community can significantly reduce their routine appointments visits, allowing eye department resources to to be focused on more complex/surgical patients. iRIS also includes a Referral Refinement/Repeat Pressures module, allowing community optometrists to undertake repeat pressure checks to help avoid further unnecessary referrals for suspect glaucoma to the Eye Hospital.
BENEFITS FOR COMMISSIONERS
Control, Compliance, Security & Value
iRIS provides real-time reporting functionality for service commissioners to access patient activity, numbers and outcomes at any time, for billing and audit purposes.
iRIS follows established NICE guidelines and gives suggested diagnosis, appointment types, treatments and follow-up timescales to ensure consistent compliance with the latest protocols, reducing the potential of misinterpretation and variability of results between users.
iRIS is secure, residing on Carelink, a Consumer Network Service Provider (CN-SP) which is fully compliant for delivering connectivity network services to the HSCN network.
iRIS provides centralised billing which allows authorised administrators to invoice commissioners and pay the community clinics from shared reports. This saves time, manual resources and avoids any duplication or under/over-charging.
Billable events are only incurred once an entire pathway appointment has been fully concluded, meaning that part appointments/cancelled appointments/did not attends cannot be charged to the commissioners.
BENEFITS FOR OPTOMETRISTS
Participating in enhanced clinical services helps to drive continuing professional development.
Maintaining and improving professional skills and knowledge is important for providing high quality care for patients and raising professional standards.
Using iRIS to deliver community glaucoma services creates new revenue opportunities for optometrists, whilst allowing them to provide additional valuable services to their patients, support their local health services and gain further professional accreditation and credibility.
POWERFUL REPORTING TOOLS
iRIS can provide real-time access to granular data and insights. Powerful reporting and analytic tools allow practitioners and policymakers to make high impact data-driven decisions.
